Interview Process

The first round of interviews will be conducted by telephone.

The second round of interviews will be conducted in person either in Europe or the United States. All Candidates invited to interview in person must attend one of the interview sessions in order to be considered for the position. Candidates are responsible for any travel arrangements and costs associated with attending an interview session.

After interviews

Selected Candidates will be invited to an Evaluation Week in Austin, Texas with the Owner, Operations Manager and Business Development Managers. This week comes immediately prior to scheduled departure for Paris. Any Candidate that does not successfully complete this evaluation period or does not meet company standards will not be invited to Europe. Obviously this rarely occurs, but we will take only those serious about this job. Our company is not the "average summer job" and much is expected of staff. Evaluation Week will give a clear indication of the enthusiasm and preparedness of each Candidate for the job.

Evaluation Week will consist of roughly five dedicated days of preparation for the job. Activities will include:

Practice giving tours and review tour information.
Practice office and tour procedures.
Learn bicycle and Segway maintenance.
Work as a team.
Watch videos of past tours.
Discuss marketing.
Complete daily tests regarding tour and company information and procedures.
Completing a final exam that includes all previous daily tests and still further information.

Qualified Candidates will then spend roughly 3-9 months based in the Paris office.

Applications

Applications will be available in August 2010 for the 2011 season.

By Far the Very Best

My name is Sara and I recently took your tour of Montmarte with Aleks. At first i was skeptical of taking a tour at all- I pride myself on being a non-touristy tourist- but it was amazing! I learned so much and Aleks is truly a performer. She had the entire group laughing, smiling, and truly enjoying themselves the whole time. She was well informed and articulate, and made her presentation fun and enjoyable to listen to. Even for days afterwards, i was telling my newly-arrived friends all sorts of interesting historical informational tidbits about Paris that I learned on the tour.

I've traveled all over the world, and have been on short tours like this in many different countries, and can honestly say that this was by far the very best!
Thank you, and thank you for such a lovely guide in Aleks!
